School Grounds

Our School sits on a north facing slope looking out over Seton Nossiter Park. The outlook is green and spacious and you could be forgiven for thinking you were a lot further away from Wellington city than the 10 minutes it takes to drive there.

The driveway runs down from the road through the centre of the school and is lined with Pohutukawa trees. The grounds are large and there is plenty of space for children to run and play.

As you enter the driveway the car park and hall are on the right. The hall is used frequently for a variety of reasons both by the school and by external community groups.

Half way down the drive on the left hand side is the junior block of classes. Years 0-2 are based here in 5 classrooms.  The classrooms run along side the junior play area where there is plenty of space to run and play and variety of different activities to explore

  • Sand Pit
  • Raised Garden Beds
  • A slide down to the lower school
  • Shady trees to explore
  • a very popular play structure with a variety of physical challenges including monkey bars, wobbly bridge and a Fireman’s pole

School Office and Administration

At the bottom of the driveway, in the centre of the school, is the administration block. The Principal and Office Manager are based here. Adjacent are the staff room and sick bay. Children come and go from here as they need. Sometimes bringing fruit for fruit break or when they are hurt or unwell.

On the right at the bottom of the drive are the senior classrooms. Years 3-6 are based here. The Senior Classrooms overlook the lower field where the Adventure Zone is based.  See more about this here. In the senior area there are a range of different adaptable areas for the children to challenge themselves in and enjoy:

  • Flying fox
  • Large hard surface spaces for playing ball sports such as netball and soccer
  • Shady grove of Manuka
  • Challenging climbing frame and play structure
  • Top field which is open space and often used for ball sports and features newly installed combination rugby/soccer goal posts
  • A new horizontal climbing wall is under construction in this area

The bottom field is the Adventure Zone here, in the trees alongside, and on the bank both older and younger children love to play explore, build, create and explore their environment.
