New Enrolment Scheme

Paparangi School has worked with the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Bellevue, Newlands and Rewa Rewa Schools to implement an enrolment scheme. The decision to implement enrolment schemes was made by each Board of Trustees to ensure that over time each school is able to manage new enrolments carefully. This will allow all schools to manage potential overcrowding, so our students have the opportunity to learn in the best conditions possible.
Paparangi’s proposed enrolment zone can be viewed in the office foyer. Notification about the Enrolment Schemes and consultation period has been published in the local newspaper. The public consultation period is open until midday on Friday 21 September. Once the public consultation and the submission period has closed, the Board will work with the MOE to formalise the Paparangi School enrolment zone. Then the scheme will take effect from the beginning of Term 1, 2019.

A – Z of Paparangi

In case you missed the email, our A – Z booklet of all things Paparangi School has been updated. This handy little document covers everything from attendance to homework to website and everything in between. You can view the booklet at this link: A-Z Booklet. Of course, if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to talk to your child’s teacher or contact the school office.

School Donations

Each year the Board of Trustees writes to parents outlining the need for Paparangi School to ask our parents for a donation. Despite our growing school roll and the increased funding that this growth provides, there is still a shortfall between the funding provided by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the budget required for running our school. We are awaiting notification from the MOE about new proposed funding arrangements for school donations in line with the government’s election promise about school fees and donations but in the meantime here is information about donation requests for 2018.

Paparangi School is governed by a democratically elected group of people called the Board of Trustees. These trustees make important decisions about our school’s strategic direction, student progress, management, school culture and more. The Paparangi School Board of Trustees meets twice a term. The next Board meeting will be held on 13 August 2018 at 6pm.
